Fire Pools

Mobile fire pools are mobile water tanks that are quickly set up during forest fires to serve as platforms for helicopters to take water for extinguishing efforts. They can also be installed at airports to allow fire planes to resupply with water.

Mobile pools also serve as platforms for meeting urgent water needs through quick setup in disaster areas during natural disasters.

They are mobile pools with high water intake capacity, produced with the aim of ensuring easy access for helicopters and fire trucks during interventions against fires that have broken out or may break out in forests and locations far from water sources. By providing easy access and quick refilling with the optional GPS system and generator system, the goal is to prevent loss of time during emergency response. They are produced in 60 T, 85 T, 100 T, and 125 T capacities (the world’s largest capacity mobile pool).

Features

Mobile fire pools can be utilized in various disaster situations and different areas of use.

İşte bazı örnekler:

Floods and Water Disasters: Mobile pools can be used in flooded areas for supplying clean water and draining contaminated water. Additionally, they are useful for cleaning and disinfection in areas affected by flooding after the disaster.

Water Supply After Earthquakes: In areas where water infrastructure is damaged after an earthquake, mobile pools can play a critical role in providing clean drinking water.

Temporary Shelter Areas: Mobile pools can be used for water supply and hygiene in temporary shelter areas (tent cities, container cities) established after earthquakes, floods, or other disasters.

Field Hospitals: In field hospitals established during large-scale disasters, mobile pools can be an important resource for providing the necessary water supply and hygiene for patient care.

Mining and Industrial Accidents: Mobile pools can be used to meet the water needs of emergency response teams and for cleaning in events such as mine collapses, chemical spills, or industrial fires.

Increasing Emergency Response Capacity: Mobile fire pools are an important tool for rapid and effective intervention in forest fires. By deploying these pools close to the fire area, water supply can be provided and the spread of the fire can be prevented.

Flexibility and Portability: Mobile fire pools can be quickly transported to fire areas thanks to their portable structure. This makes it easier to contain the fire in its initial stages.

Infrastructure Independence: Fire pools eliminate the problem of water supply by reducing dependence on water sources in the fire area. This provides a great advantage, especially in regions where water resources are insufficient or transportation is difficult.

Increasing Firefighting Capacity: Existing firefighting equipment may be insufficient in large fires. Mobile fire pools play a major role in controlling fires by increasing firefighting capacity.

Training and Exercise Opportunities: AFAD can use mobile fire pools in fire drills and training exercises. This way, the competency of the teams in firefighting can be increased.

Cost and Time Savings: Fire pools ensure that firefighting operations are carried out more quickly and effectively, providing savings in terms of both cost and time.

Integrated Emergency Management: Mobile fire pools, which can be used together with AFAD's other disaster response vehicles and equipment, contribute to the establishment of an integrated emergency management system.

Water Storage in Agricultural Areas: Mobile pools can be used for water storage and irrigation in agricultural lands during periods of drought, thus preventing crop loss.

Fire Training and Exercises: It can be used to increase firefighting skills in training and exercises.

Festivals and Large Events: It can be used for temporary water storage and hygiene provision at events involving large crowds.

The use of mobile fire pools in disaster support operations abroad can provide significant contributions from various perspectives.

Rapid and Effective Intervention: Mobile fire pools offer quick and effective solutions for water supply. When sent to disaster areas abroad, they help meet the water need rapidly and shorten the response time.

Flexibility and Adaptability: Mobile pools, which can be used in different geographical and climatic conditions, maintain their functionality in various disaster scenarios abroad. This flexibility enhances the success of international aid operations.

Increased Trust and Prestige: The provision of advanced technology solutions, such as mobile fire pools, by Turkey in disaster relief enhances its reliability and prestige internationally. This creates a positive image for future collaborations and mutual assistance.

Enhancing Humanitarian Aid Capacity: Mobile pools increase the effectiveness of humanitarian aid operations by providing clean water in disaster areas. As water is critically important for hygiene and health, these pools can contribute to saving many lives.

Long-Term Relationships and Collaborations: The use of mobile pools abroad can help Turkey establish long-term relationships and collaborations with other countries. Sharing expertise in disaster relief and response processes strengthens solidarity between nations.

Technology and Knowledge Transfer: The use of mobile pools provides an opportunity for Turkey to transfer its knowledge and technologies regarding disaster management abroad. This also contributes to increasing the disaster management capacities of other countries.

Improvement of Living Conditions in Disaster Areas: Providing clean water to disaster areas is vital, especially in situations where water resources are insufficient or contaminated. Mobile pools help improve living conditions in these areas.

Meeting the Needs of Support Teams: It is also important to meet the water needs of personnel involved in international aid operations. Mobile pools ensure the sustainability of operations by addressing the needs of the support teams.

The inclusion of mobile fire pools in AFAD’s inventory provides many critical advantages. Features such as increased firefighting capacity, emergency water supply, flexibility, and portability offer significant benefits in disaster management. Costs are generally limited to initial setup, maintenance, and logistics expenses. Overall, the benefits provided by mobile fire pools outweigh the costs and significantly increase AFAD’s disaster response capacity.
